Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (TRE)
Tension and Truma Releasing Exercises (TRE), is a simple yet powerful method developed by Dr. David Berceli to activate the body’s natural shaking mechanism, helping to release tension and stress. Many of us unknowingly carry physical and psychological patterns of contraction stored in our tissues and overactive nervous systems—often trapped in protective reflexes like fight, flight, or shutdown. These unresolved tensions can drain our energy, disrupt sleep, affect appetite and sexual arousal, and impact overall health and mindset. Regular TRE practice helps counteract these effects, offering broad physical and emotional benefits.
TRE consists of a sequence of simple exercises designed to trigger neurogenic tremors, the body’s natural shaking response. When activated in a controlled and sustained way, these tremors release deep-seated muscular tension associated with stress while also reawakening and energizing areas of the body stuck in shutdown states. The process begins at the body’s centre of gravity, where the psoas muscles play a key role. Once activated, the tremors ripple through the body, from the sacrum to the cranium, releasing tension along the spine. As the body lets go of stored stress, the brain registers a reduction in pain signals and releases relaxation-inducing hormones, creating a sensation often described as an internal massage.
What is the session like?
After the initial settling and checking in, I will guide you through a series of exercises designed to wake our tremor mechanism. Once that's established we explore and support the body's intelligence as well as deepen our grounding and self regulating skills. The session takes 1h.

Group class: £15 (part of 5 and 10 class block booking dicount)
Individual session (60 - 75 mins) : £70. Discount when booked in block of 3 (£65 each)
